British GT Debut at Spa With only two 1 hour free practice sessions on the challenging Belgium circuit, and both drivers new to the series, the team knew they would up against it going into round 4 of the British GT series.

The grid was formed by an aggregate of the 2 driver’s times, and the British duo were very pleased to end up 6th with so little running in a competitive field.

It was regular UK Lotus Cup front runner Adam who took the start and did a great job in the opening hour, maintaining 6th and staying close to the lead runners. Unfortunately with just minutes to go before the mandatory driver change, a competitor lost a lot of oil all over the track, and with Adam arriving at Blanchimont at full racing speed there was nothing he could do as he lost grip and made contact with the barrier. He managed to get the car back to the pits and Track Club worked tirelessly to turn the car round and get it back out with the experienced British racer Ben now at the wheel. Unfortunately by this time the number 72 Evora was a few laps down, a distance they would never claw back before the flag.

Ben was upbeat afterwards, “It was just one of those things. There was nothing Adam could do; you arrive at Blanchimont at 140+mph, so if you suddenly find oil down you’re just a passenger at that point, as shown by quite a few other cars having the same problem. The team did fantastically to get the car back out and it was a fun weekend, racing in British GT for the first time. I think as a driver pairing we could be very competitive, so I hope we are able to do some more races in the series together.”
