Mechanical Problems Prevent Good Result in Zolder 24 Hours The weekend started well with an all-star line up including Ben, Phil Keen, Pat Gormley and Andrew Beaumont setting quick testing times.

With qualifying set out over several days and split between night and day, the number 93 car flew eventually ending up pole position quite well clear of 2nd.

As the race got under way the Topcats Mosler surged into the lead and immediately got a buffer to second. Unfortunately problems befell the car and it wasnít long before the team knew the only way to stay in the race was to change the engine. Undeterred they did exactly that putting in huge effort and doing it remarkably quickly.

After some good stints by all drivers, including Ben setting the fastest race lap in the middle of the night, another problem arose. This time it was terminal, meaning despite their best efforts the team were forced to retire the car at about mid-distance.

Ben was slightly frustrated afterwards ďItís really gutting to finish the race early. Weíve had the pace of anyone all week and the team did an unbelievable job to get us back out there after our problem early on. We had pole, fastest lap, so itís so disappointing not to get to the end. Itís just one of those things and it doesnít matter how well you prepare you still need a bit of luck a long the way in a 24 hour race. Iím looking forward to having a go at the Silverstone 24 hour later in the year, hopefully we can give the guys the result they deserve.Ē
