Ben wins Britcar 500 For the second time this season, Ben joined up with team TopCats racing to drive the Mosler, this time in the Britcar 6 hour race around Silverstone. The race would start at 16.00 and go into the night to finish in the dark at 22.00.

In a race as long as 6 hours qualifying isnít that important, however both the team and the Silverstone based driver were still very happy to take pole and be in the best possible position for the start of the race. With only 1 tenth of a second covering the top 3 in qualifying, it looked like it was going to be a close battle throughout the race.

The young Brit started the race and was able to hand the car over to Pat in the lead at the end of his first stint. As the race progressed and strategies differed, a few cars took their turn at the top of the leaderboard. As darkness fell, so did the rain, making the conditions even more challenging and making the teams have to re-think when the best time for the pitstops may be.

As the clock ticked down to 1 hour remaining Ben handed the car over, and as their competitors still needed to pit, it became clear the number 4 Mosler was effectively in the lead. Despite intense pressure from behind, with just 15 seconds covering the top 3 with 10 minutes remaining, Pat drove superbly to bring home the win.

Ben was delighted afterwards. ďIt was just the perfect race. Pole, fastest lap and the win, it just couldnít get any better. TopCats did an absolutely brilliant job and we didnít have a single problem with the car all race. I have to say a massive thank you to Andrew Beaumont (car owner) for getting me along for the weekend and his strategy calls. It was a great race made even harder by the weather conditions. Iím just over the moon with the result.Ē
