Ben Endures a Tough Weekend in Changeable Conditions at Brands Hatch Racing in the Speed Series Qualifying didnít go quite as either the team or the Silvestone based driver would have hoped, and after the 30 minute session they ended up 6th in the 18 car strong field.

Belgium driver Christophe Burrick started and handed the car to the British driver at around half distance of the 3 hour race. Conditions where very changeable, and with the rain starting to fall as the pit stop window opened, the decision was taken to change to wets. Unfortunately, the back half of the circuit wasnít getting rained on as much, and it wasnít long before the number 3 Norma was back in the pits changing back to slicks and losing valuable time. For the rest of the 1 and a half hour stint, Ben was able to make up time with quick lap times and a few safety car periods, but was only able to make it back up to 8th by the flag.

It was a slightly disappointing end to a promising race. ďIt wasnít really the result we were hoping for. It was very difficult to make the right strategy call with continual showers throughout the race, and unfortunately we just got it wrong. I was very much part of the decision to change to wets and thought it was the right thing to do, so Iím certainly not blaming anyone. Itís just a shame, as I think if we had kept slicks on we may have had a chance at a podium, but I guess weíll never know. Iím next racing in Spanish GT in Albacete in a night race, so Iím very much looking forward to the new experience of racing at night.Ē
