A win and a 3rd take Ben and Francisco into the lead of the Spanish GT Championship It was Ben's first trip to the tight Jarama circuit located just outside of Madrid, close to where the Spanish team is based.

Testing went well, with the number 43 car always near the top of the time sheets and ending the 2nd free practice on top. Ben did qualifying 1 as usual, and ended up 2nd at the end of the 20 minute session. Next up was Francisco, who drove superbly to end up 2nd as well.

As the start of the first race grew ever closer the heavens opened, meaning every car on the grid had a last minute change to wets before the start of the race. The British driver started race 1, having never driven the car in the wet before. After a cautious getaway, dropping to 3rd, the Silverstone based driver found his feet setting fastest lap after fastest lap, moving his way up to 1st, and building around a 7 second lead before the pitstop. Francisco then jumped in and brought the car home in 3rd, after a slight delay in the pitstop and a couple of racing incidents.

Race 2 was dry and it was Francisco's turn to start. A good first lap and consistent lap times meant the number 43 Ginetta was in the lead when the time for driver changes came around. As all the pitstop handicaps unfolded, Ben found himself in 2nd with a bit of work to do. Some quick laps and a good overtake got the pair their first win of the year and the Championship lead.

Ben was delighted afterwards. "It's been a great weekend. It was a new track for me, which I have enjoyed a lot, and it's fantastic to come away with a win and the championship lead. I'm especially happy that Francisco's got his first ever GT win and I hope we're able to keep the momentum at Francisco's home track of Estoril next time out."
