2 Podiums in Spanish GT Opener at Valencia Driving a Ginetta for the first time, with a new team mate, Francisco Lorena, and minimal testing, Ben wasn't sure exactly what to expect going in to the first round of Spanish GT at Valencia.

Everything went well from the start with the car immediately near the top of the timesheets in testing. Ben did the first qualifying session and finished up 2nd on the grid a couple of tenths away from pole. Francisco was next up and did a fantastic job to end up 3rd in only his 3rd GT race.

The first race was a great battle for the lead with the Silverstone based driver starting. After being held up initially by a slower car in another class he was able to get back on terms with the leader, setting the fastest race lap and taking the lead a few laps before the pitstops. Francisco then jumped in and drove very well to bring the car home in 2nd.

In race 2 it was the Portuguese drivers turn to start. Some consistent lap times and good pace meant they were running 3rd by the time the pitstops came around. The young British driver then took to the wheel and was able to lap at a good consistent pace to eventually bring the number 43 car home in 2nd and take their 2nd podium of the weekend.

Ben was delighted with the result afterwards. "It's been a great weekend. The battle for the lead in the first race was great fun, and to come away with two 2nd places is a really good way to start the Championship. Francisco has done very well, improving each time he is in the car, and getting 2 podiums when he is very new to GT racing. I can't wait to get to Jarama for round 2."
