A Win in Ligier Sports Prototype in 3 Hour Race at Brands Hatch After the disappointment of Snetterton where Ben didn't even get in the car during the race, everyone was eager to prove what the number 2 Ligier was capable of.

It looked like it was going to be a tough day, as Ben had never been on the Brands Hatch GP circuit before, and with only 45 minutes testing split between 2 drivers, he didnít have a huge amount of time to learn it. After practice, they were 4th quickest, which both drivers were reasonably happy with given the limited running. Qualifying was a little bit of a lottery, with the track going from dry to wet, and then dry again during the hour long session. The young British charger jumped in for the 2nd half of the session, and eventually did a lap right at the end to go 4th quickest.

As the strong field lined up for the 3 hour race, the weather had taken a turn for the worse. This meant the track was damp but could have dried quickly, making tyre choice difficult. However, most of the field, including the IF Motorsport run car, started on wets. As the lights went out Ben got a great start and immediately jumped 2 places around the outside at Paddock to go into 2nd. A couple of laps later, still on the attack, he moved up to the lead and began to build a good gap of around 10 seconds before the driver change window at half distance. Ivor McCullough then jumped in for the rest of the race and did a great job to bring home the victory.

Ben was of course delighted with the result "That was a brilliant race. We had very good speed throughout all 3 hours and more or less had a trouble free run to the flag. It was great to get into the lead early on and pull a bit of a gap and Ivor did brilliantly as well. These are all one offs at the moment, but I would still love to do more, especially given this result. I have to say a massive thank you to everyone at IF Motorsport for giving us such a great car.Ē
