A hugely frustrating weekend in which mechanical problems prevented any racing.

When Peters Racing's regular driver was unavailable for the last round of the series, Ben was delighted to be offered the drive. Having had only very few laps in his previous V8 tests, this seemed to offer a chance of getting some significant mileage under his belt. It was a bonus that it was to be a Phillip Island - a track he knows from his Formula 3 races. However things went badly. An initial test at Queensland Raceway started encouragingly, but was curtailed after 20 laps with a mechanical problem. More problems in the first practise only allowed 3 laps of the track. Second practise didn't go well either - Ben was further off the pace than in any other V8 tests and there was a lot of head scratching to find out why. Qualifying was a nightmare, a wheel fell off on the first lap, and this happened again when it was replaced. Too much damage was done to the car to continue or to race.
